High-Precision Hot Chamber Zinc Die Casting
When your project requires small, intricate metal components with extremely tight tolerances and a premium surface finish, Zinc Die Casting is the superior choice. Utilizing the Hot Chamber casting process, zinc alloys (Zamak) offer exceptional fluidity, allowing for the production of net-shape parts with thinner walls and sharper details than aluminum or magnesium.
At JUCHENG, we operate a fleet of high-speed hot chamber die casting machines optimized for efficiency. From functional automotive safety components to high-gloss chrome-plated consumer electronics housings, our facility delivers high-density, durable parts. Our integrated tooling and finishing services ensure that we can take your design from a raw casting to a fully plated, ready-to-assemble product with unmatched speed.

JUCHENG’s Zinc Casting Capabilities

We leverage the unique properties of zinc to push the boundaries of metal forming:
  • Thin-Wall Casting: We can cast wall thicknesses as low as 0.5mm (depending on geometry), allowing for lightweight yet rigid electronic shielding cans and enclosures.
  • Long Tool Life: Due to zinc's lower melting point, our molds suffer less thermal shock, often lasting 500,000 to 1,000,000 shots. This significantly lowers tooling amortization costs for long-term projects.
  • Complex Geometries: Our multi-slide die casting capabilities allow us to cast parts with complex side-cores, undercuts, and threads directly, reducing the need for secondary machining.
  • Surface Finishing Excellence: Zinc is the best substrate for plating. We offer in-house polishing followed by Chrome, Nickel, Gold, or Satin Plating to achieve Class-A cosmetic surfaces.
  • Precision Machining: For tolerances tighter than +/- 0.02mm, we perform secondary CNC machining on critical bearing surfaces and tapped holes.

Materials Available

Zamak Alloys for Every Application
We cast the standard range of zinc alloys to balance castability and mechanical strength:
Alloy Grade Characteristics Best Application
Zamak 3 The industry standard. Excellent dimensional stability, high fluidity for thin walls, and superior plating characteristics. General hardware, automotive trim, toys, bathroom fixtures.
Zamak 5 Contains more copper than Zamak 3. Higher tensile strength and hardness, but slightly less ductile. Automotive locks, gears, structural brackets requiring stiffness.
ZA-8 Higher aluminum content. Stronger and harder. Good for creep resistance and bearing surfaces. Decorative parts requiring sharp detail, bushings.
Zamak 2 Highest strength and hardness of the Zamak family. Excellent damping capacity. Dies, forming tools, high-stress mechanical components.

Comparison

Comparison: Zinc Die Casting vs. Aluminum Die Casting vs. Machining
Why choose Zinc over Aluminum?

Why Choose Us

The JUCHENG Zinc Advantage
  • Net-Shape Focus: We design molds to produce "net-shape" parts that require zero or minimal secondary machining, saving you money.
  • Flash-Free Trimming: We utilize custom trim dies and thermal deburring to remove flash efficiently, ensuring clean parting lines.
  • Aesthetic Control: We understand that zinc parts are often visible. Our QC team inspects for surface defects like blisters or flow marks before plating, ensuring a flawless cosmetic result.
  • Assembly Integration: We can press-fit bearings, install inserts, and assemble zinc housings with plastic components for a complete sub-assembly.

Advantages

Benefits of Zinc Alloy Casting
  • Strength & Hardness: Zinc alloys are stronger than reinforced molded plastics and harder than aluminum and magnesium.
  • Premium Feel: The high density of zinc gives products a "heavy quality feel," which is desirable in high-end consumer electronics and key fobs.
  • Conductivity: Excellent electrical and thermal conductivity makes it suitable for heat sinks and EMI shields.
  • Self-Lubricating: Zinc has good natural bearing properties, ideal for moving mechanical parts like gears.

Industries Served

Industries Relying on Zinc Components
  • Automobile: Rearview mirror mounts, seatbelt retractors, door lock actuators, interior chrome trim.
  • Consumer Electronics: Connector shells (USB/HDMI), heavy base-plates for stability, hinge mechanisms.
  • Building Hardware: Window locks, door handles, cabinet knobs, faucets.
  • Industrial: Gears, pulleys, pneumatic valve bodies.
